Change or cancel your subscription

You manage your House subscription from your account page. This guide covers cancelling, switching to a different plan and asking for a refund.

Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. You are not charged again.

  1. Select the You button at the top of the house screen. You should now see a small panel with your name and the link Account & billing.
  2. Select Account & billing. You should now see the page titled Account with the tabs Your Plan, Payment & Billing, Invoices and Cancel Subscription. The Cancel Subscription tab shows when your household has a plan to cancel.
  3. Select the Cancel Subscription tab. You should now see “Your plan remains active until 19 October 2026. You will not be charged again.” The date shown is your own end date.
  4. Optional: select Export my data to keep a copy first. You should now see a file named house-account-export.json download.
  5. Select Cancel plan. You should now see “Your plan is cancelled. You keep full access until 19 October 2026 and won’t be charged again.” The date shown is your own end date.

Afterwards, the Your Plan tab shows “Ending 19 October 2026 - you keep full access until then.” The date shown is your own end date.

If something goes wrong, House shows: “We couldn’t complete this change right now. Your plan is unchanged - please try again, or contact support.”

If your household has no paid plan, the tab says “Nothing to cancel - this household is on the free House” and offers See plans.

If our team set up your plan, there is nothing to pay or cancel on the page. Email support@sterryk.com to change it.

Switching straight from one plan to another is not in the app today. What works today:

  1. Cancel your current plan with the steps above. It stays active until the end of the billing period.
  2. When the period ends, open Account & billing and choose the new plan on the Your Plan tab. You should now see the new plan listed under Your Plan.

Email support@sterryk.com if you would like a hand with either step. The account page points the same way. It tells a household that already has a plan to cancel first, and says the current plan stays active until the end of the billing period.

Cancelling does not refund you automatically. If you paid within the last 14 days, ask us and we will refund it in full. The Refund policy has the full wording.

  1. Open Account & billing, then select the Invoices tab. You should now see a table of your payments.
  2. On a row marked Paid, select Request a refund. You should now see a short form with a list of reasons. Choosing a reason is optional.
  3. Choose a reason, or leave Rather not say, then select Request a refund again. Your request is now open. You should see “Asked. We’ll email you when it’s been issued.” and a choice, “Give me the free month instead” or “Continue with my refund”.
  4. Select Continue with my refund. You should now see “Asked. We’ll email you when it’s been issued.” and your request under Refund requests.

The choice in step 3 reads: “Your refund is on its way. If you’d rather stay, we can give you a free month instead - entirely up to you, and your refund goes ahead if you’d prefer that.”

Paddle issues refunds as our merchant of record, on its own timeline. Refund requests shows where each request has got to.

Undoing a cancellation is not in the app today. Your plan keeps working until the period ends. Email support@sterryk.com and we will tell you what we can do.
